DocMagic 7.3 (If you downloaded DocMagic from the
Internet make all
references of CD-ROM to the DMIntsall folder.)
1.
Installing the NT service:
- From the Utilities menu on your DocMagic
toolbar, go down to Load Update
From Diskette
- Browse to the CD-ROM
drive, then to services, then to n1, then click on OK
- After the update is
completed, exit out of DocMagic and open up your DSI
folder.
- You should
see a Services folder. If you don?t, go back to the beginning of
these
steps.
- Go into the Services folder, and then into the NTServ folder
-
Run Setup.exe
- When you?re asked for the Directory to install the service it
must be install
to the local Hard Drive of the server PC.
- When it
prompts you type in your Name, company and the Serial Number,
(contact DSI
Tech Support for Serial Number).
- Go to step 2.
2. Creating the
REVPARAM file:
- Open the DSI folder
- Right click in an empty space and
choose to create a new text document.
- Open the file and type in
serveronly=true, all one word with no spaces.
This should be the only line in
this file
- Exit and Save the File.
- Then rename the file so that it is
named REVPARAM with NO file extension.
- You may want to double-check your
system settings to make sure that
Windows is showing you all the file
extensions.
- To do this you must go to the VIEW menu of Explorer and go down
to
Options (or Folder Options). If you don?t have Options (or Folder Options)
under
your VIEW menu, then look under the TOOLS menu. Once there, click on to
the
VIEW tab. About half-way down the screen you should see a line that
says:
- Hide Ms-Dos File Extensions For Known File Types.
- Take the check
mark out of that line, then click on OK. Now make sure
that the REVPARAM file
has NO file extensions.
- Now copy this file, and paste it into the following
directories:
- DM
- DMW
- LENDER
- DOCAPPR
3. Check Access
Rights:
- All users of DocMagic must have read/write/delete/change/execute
rights
to the DSI folder and all subdirectories.
4. Client
Installation:
- Make sure that the network share that you have mapped to
network drive
is the folder above the DSI folder. For example DO NOT map the
drive to
\\server\dsi, instead map it to \\server\apps. This way the program
can see it
self properly, such as H:\DSI. For Best Practices we recommend
that you map
the same drive letter for all workstations using Doc*Magic.
-
Install Doc*Magic on the workstation(s) and choose ?Client Install.?
5.
