Changing the NETWORK Driver on a Non MULTI-USER System
SYMPTOMS Changing the NETWORK Driver on a Non MULTI-USER System
SOLUTION
If you do not have a multi-user engine, then you will be unable to use the
netdrv
utility to change the network driver. To change it manually open a
command
prompt in the dmw directory. Type in:
Dir lh*.dll
This
will show you all of you network drivers. Lh.dll is the currently
loaded
driver, lh2.dll is the all networks driver, lhbr.dll is the Byte Range
locking driver,
and lhnov.dll is the Novell driver. To change the driver
simply type in:
Copy lh2.dll lh.dll
Or
Copy lhbr.dll
lh.dll
Or
Copy lhnov.dll lh.dll
This will over write the existing
driver with the new one, leaving the old one in
tact and ready for next
time.
