DocMaster Error 'The Parameter is incorrect'

SYMPTOMS

When trying to print, open webdocs, or open a blockument, you get the following
error message:

"The parameter is incorrect" usually followed by the error "Invalid pointer
operation."

SOLUTION

The user needs to get a Windows Update from the Microsoft Windows Update
Website. The update name is:

Windows IDE Hard Drive Cache Package - version 4,10,0,2222

After this update is installed and the computer is rebooted the issue will be
solved.

If the update has been installed and the user still gets this error a system reboot
is required.

COMMENTS

This error seems only to occur in Windows 98 however it can occur in other
versions of Windows.
