DocMagic’s GFE Amt Link

C'mon - I bet you've wondered about that mysterious "GFE Amt" link in the "Charges/Fees/Premiums" screen of DocMagic shown below:

GFE Amt Link

Have you tried clicking the link yet?  It just may make your life easier when entering loan transaction data into DocMagic's worksheet.

If you click on the GFE Amt link, the following pop-up screen will appear:

Select a Source for GFE Amounts

And, if you click on the "More Info" link in the above pop-up screen, it will link you to a web page on DocMagic's site that provides the following explanation about each one of the three sources listed in the pop-up screen, as follows:

Source for GFE Amounts

Values in the "GFE Amount" entry fields should reflect the fees/charges that were disclosed in the last GFE provided to the borrower(s). If you do not want to manually enter the GFE Amounts, you may pull values from any one of the three sources described below:

  1. Previously processed Predisclosure/Pre-Closing Package - Amounts from the "Charge Amt" column of the last processed predisclosure or pre-closing package, whichever package was processed later, for this same worksheet will be loaded into the "GFE Amount" entry fields. This is the recommended source as values entered in the "Charge Amt" column for either the Predisclosure or Pre-Closing package were used to complete the GFE.
  2. Current Worksheet Values - Amounts from the "Charge Amt" column in this same worksheet will be copied to the corresponding fields in the "GFE Amt" column. In other words, the "GFE Amount" entry fields will match exactly the entry fields in the "Charge Amt" column. Note that selecting this option will result in the values in the "GFE" and "HUD-1" columns of the comparison tables on page 3 of the HUD-1 being identical unless you modify the values in the "Charge Amt" column to reflect actual settlement costs and fees after selecting this option.
  3. An alternate Worksheet file - Amounts from the "Charge Amt" column in another worksheet will be copied into the "GFE Amount" entry fields. Simply specify the client I.D. and the worksheet file to use.

Press the clear GFE amounts button below to instantly clear ALL GFE amount fields, and then click "Ok."

Clear All GFE Amount Entry Fields

As noted above, if a predisclosure or pre-closing package has been processed using the same worksheet that will be used for the closing package, Option #1 (Previously processed Predisclosure/Pre-Closing Package) is recommended. However, note that if some values have been manually entered in the GFE Amt column, like the below:

GFE Amount - Manual Entry

the following pop-up screen will appear after selecting "OK" to Option #1:

GFE Amount - Merge Data or Overwrite

Selecting "Merge Data" will preserve the amounts that have been manually entered.  See below screen shot:

GFE Amount - Merge Data

If you wish to clear the amounts listed in the "GFE Amt" column, simply click on the GFE Amt link again, click on "Clear All GFE Amount Entry Fields," and click "Ok," as shown in the pop-up screen below:

Selecting Option #2 (Current Worksheet Values) will copy the amounts in  the "Charge Amt" column in the same worksheet that the DocMagic user is in to the corresponding fields in the "GFE Amt" column, like so:

GFE Amount - Current Worksheet Values

And, finally, Option #3 (an alternate Worksheet file) is ideal for those DocMagic customers who, for example, have one DocMagic account for processing predisclosure packages and a different account for processing closing packages.  Simply enter the account and worksheet numbers in the appropriate fields in the pop-up screen, and the amounts in  the "Charge Amt" column in that worksheet will be copied to the corresponding fields in the "GFE Amt" column of the current worksheet that the DocMagic user is using.
