The Kansas Office of the State Bank Commissioner recently revised regulations for the required notice to consumers about the licensee making the loan. The form for the notice, the Kansas Notice by Licensee to Applicant (Form ID: KSNBLTA.MSC), is being revised as a result of the regulation update. Read More
At the end of June, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) issued several mortgagee letters to revise guidelines for FHA loans. In its release announcing the changes, FHA stated “the changes eliminate outdated requirements, reduce administrative burdens, and make FHA financing more efficient for homebuyers and lenders.” The release stated HUD was announcing fourteen policy changes to “lower costs, reduce regulatory burdens, and improve affordability.” The changes include: removing a requirement for 10% of loans to include an appraisal field review, expanding draw options for limited 203k loans, removing the requirement for HUD form 92900-B, revisions to quality control requirements, and revisions to loss mitigation rules. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) has issued Special Procedure Notice 657 to announce increased 2026 income limits for the Rural Development Single Family Guaranteed Loan Program. The USDA’s income limits are based on total household income and vary by household size and location. Read More

UAD - Uniform Appraisal Dataset. This is a dataset that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (collectively, GSEs) will require lenders to include as part of their sale of loans to the GSEs. The UAD contains appraisal-specific data that originates from the appraisal report and the process for creating the appraisal report.
On February 20, 2026, the Nebraska Legislature passed a bill, Legislative Bill 717 (LB 717), that adds a new requirement for lenders to complete and provide to the borrower a tangible net benefit form for all refinances of mortgage loans. Read More
