Dodd-Frank Designated Transfer Date Announced

The Secretary of the Treasury announced July 21, 2011 as the designated transfer date for purposes of transferring consumer financial protection functions to the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection ("Bureau") pursuant to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The designated transfer date will occur exactly one year after President Barack Obama signed Dodd-Frank into law. On the designated transfer date, the consumer financial protection functions of several federal agencies, including the federal banking agencies and the Federal Trade Commission, will transfer to the Bureau and other provisions of Dodd-Frank will take effect.  For more information regarding this announcement please click here.
