The CFPB recently published new Enforcement Principles on their website that will guide any enforcement action the bureau decides to take.  The principles reflect a shift in focus for the bureau from its priorities under previous administrations, much that has already been publicly discussed.

In late June, both houses of Congress passed the “21st Century ROAD to Housing Act” (ROAD – Reducing Over-regulation in And out of Development) with significant majorities aimed at address housing affordability.  The bill is due to become law, without a presidential signature, July 10th, 2026.
